KARACHI: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Asim Ahmed on Saturday reviewed the performance of the tax offices situated in Karachi, a statement said.

The FBR chairman visited the Large Taxpayers Office (LTO) Karachi and held meetings with the chief commissioners of all the field formations stationed in Karachi.

Ahmed reviewed the performance of all the chief commissioners vis-à-vis targets assigned for the third quarter (January-March 2023).

All chief commissioners of the Inland Revenue (CCIRs) gave detailed presentations, outlining the projection and strategy to achieve the budgetary target for the third quarter.

The FBR chairman directed all the CCIRs to leave no stone unturned to safeguard revenue and to meet the budgetary target fixed for the current month.

He also reiterated that the taxpayers’ facilitation is the harbinger for successful implementation of the FBR policies and the taxpayers must be facilitated in resolving their pending issues with the department, invariably.

Ahmed directed the CCIRs that effective monitoring of sugar mills must be made in letter and spirit to plug revenue leakages.
