Suzuki Sales Hit Record Low as a Result of Production problems
Due to insufficient inventories and import limitations, Pak Suzuki Motor Company’s (PSMC) sales have plummeted for the second time this year
According to the most recent data from the dependable Auto Journal, Pak Suzuki sold fewer than 1,000 units in February. This is the automaker’s poorest performance since the countrywide COVID-19 lockdowns in April 2020, which resulted in zero output and sales.
The research attributes the reduction to sporadic manufacturing shutdowns and a lack of completely knocked down (CKD) kits. The automakers have also criticized the State Bank of Pakistan‘s (SBP) refusal to provide letters of credit (LCs) for import clearance.
Pak Suzuki sold 2,940 vehicles in January, a 74% decrease in monthly sales. The massive drop was caused by poor sales of the Suzuki Alto, which fell from 6,898 units in December 2022 to 44 units in January 2023.
The total number of units sold in February will most likely be in the high tens or low hundreds. We won’t know for certain until official numbers from the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturers Association (PAMA) arrive.
