In a surprising turn of events, Toyota Indus has announced a substantial drop in the prices of all its models, with the Toyota Yaris taking center stage, thanks to the recent appreciation of the local currency against the US dollar. This strategic move by the automaker aims to share the benefits of the rupee’s strength with its customers.

The management of Toyota Central Motors has released an updated Price List, effective October 24, 2023, for all Completely Knocked Down (CKD) vehicles. The price cuts are nothing short of astonishing, ranging from Rs 0.1 to Rs 1.3 million, making Toyota vehicles more affordable than ever.

This latest announcement follows a trend set by other automakers, such as KIA and MG Motors, who also recently unveiled massive reductions in the prices of their vehicles. The entire automotive industry in Pakistan appears to be adapting to the country’s strengthening currency, reflecting the interconnectedness between the local auto sector and imports.

The star of the show, the Toyota Yaris, has seen a significant drop in price. The cheapest Yaris model, the 1.3 MT LO, now starts at an enticing Rs4.39 million. Meanwhile, the top-of-the-line 1.5 CVT Aero has witnessed a substantial reduction of Rs120,000, bringing its new price to a highly competitive Rs5.849 million.

Here’s a breakdown of the new prices for the Toyota Yaris models compared to their previous rates:

This price drop is a welcome relief for consumers who, just a few months ago, had experienced a significant increase in Toyota’s prices and those of other automakers due to the depreciation of the Pakistani rupee against the US dollar.

With the local currency making a strong comeback against the greenback, Toyota Indus is determined to ensure that its customers benefit from these positive economic changes. This strategic decision not only bolsters Toyota’s position in the Pakistani market but also puts a smile on the faces of potential car buyers throughout the country.

The automotive industry’s response to the exchange rate fluctuations is indicative of the resilience and adaptability of Pakistan’s economy and the auto sector. With more affordable vehicles on the horizon, it’s an exciting time for car enthusiasts and consumers across the nation, as they can now experience the renowned quality and performance of Toyota vehicles at even more accessible price points.
