Approaching the 2024 Montreal Auto Show, Honda Canada is giving a sneak peek at the 2025 Civic Hybrid sedan, which will start production in Alliston, Ontario, this spring.
They’ve revealed pictures of the Sport Touring model, though it’s unclear if this will be the only version in Canada. Notably, the Canadian Civic Hybrid has a sportier look compared to its European counterpart. Special features include a unique honeycomb grille, a redesigned lower bumper, and distinct alloy wheels and black mirror caps on the sides.
While we haven’t seen inside yet, it’s expected to be similar to the regular Civic with some tweaks. The Alliston factory will be the main production site, and it’s projected to make up over 40% of Civic sales in North America.
Production for the 2025 Civic Hybrid starts this spring in Alliston, followed by the Civic Hatchback Hybrid a few weeks later in Greensburg, Indiana. Both factories already make the CR-V Hybrid.
The Civic Hybrid will use Honda’s two-motor hybrid system, offering a combined 204 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque. It’s aiming to compete with the Toyota Corolla Hybrid and Hyundai Elantra Hybrid in terms of efficiency, but the price might be a bit higher. In 2022, Honda Canada invested significantly to upgrade the Alliston facilities for high-volume hybrid production.
