The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts rain-wind/thunderstorms in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Sunday evening/night. A shallow westerly wave currently over the upper parts of Pakistan is expected to persist for the next 24 hours, influencing these weather conditions.

Heatwaves are expected to develop in Lahore and across Punjab, with temperatures rising 4 to 6°C above normal from May 21 to May 23. This heatwave is likely to intensify from May 23 to May 27, with temperatures soaring 6 to 8°C above normal.

Under these conditions, isolated rain/thunderstorms are likely in Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Khushab, Mianwali, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, and Gujrat on Sunday evening/night. Elsewhere in the province, hot and dry weather will prevail.

On Monday and Tuesday, most districts in Punjab will experience scorching weather with gusty winds and windstorms. However, Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, and Jhelum may see isolated rain/thunderstorms in the evening.

In Lahore, maximum temperatures are expected to range between 42-44°C on Monday and 43-45°C on Tuesday. Over the last 24 hours, Lahore experienced hot and dry weather, with a maximum temperature of 44°C and evening humidity at 35%. Bahawalpur was the hottest, recording 45°C with 50% morning humidity.
