Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif announced on Monday the distribution of 1 million smartphones, tablets, and laptops to students in the province, based on merit.
According to details, Shehbaz Sharif made this announcement during a ceremony held in the federal capital to commemorate International Youth Day.
He vowed to provide ample resources to the nation’s youth, aiming to transform the country into a developed nation.
His objective is to create opportunities for the youth, a significant portion of the population, to shape the future of Pakistan as Prime Minister.
“The youth of the country have the potential to elevate the nation to new heights if given access to modern education and resources,” he said, according to the state broadcaster.
The Prime Minister also pledged to personally fund the education of 1,000 agricultural graduates in China, stating that such initiatives would enhance the country’s agricultural output.
He also revealed that Huawei has committed to training 200,000 youths in IT and advanced education.
The Prime Minister outlined some basic criteria for the distribution of free smartphones, laptops, and tablets to students, with full details to be provided later.
According to the available information, 1 million smartphones, tablets, and laptops will be given to high-performing students across the country.
Students from all four provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan will be eligible for this scheme.
Additionally, the Prime Minister mentioned that each province has separate programs to assist students.
