Pakistani citizens intending to travel to Hong Kong for employment or any purpose other than tourism are required to obtain a National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) from NADRA.
The holder of the NICOP can enjoy the following benefits:
– Visa-free entry into Pakistan on a foreign passport.
– Protection of rights enjoyed by all Pakistanis.
– Full recognition as a regular Pakistani citizen.
– Ability to open a bank account in Pakistan.
– Access to apply for a Machine Readable Passport (MRP).
A passport number is mandatory when applying for a NICOP for newborn babies born abroad.
You can apply for your NICOP either by visiting a NADRA Registration Center (NRC) or through the Pak-Identity website.
You can apply for NICOP by going to the nearest NRC. The steps are as follows:
1. You will be issued a token.
2. Your photograph will be captured.
3. Your fingerprints and signature will be taken.
4. Your required data will be entered, and a form will be printed for your review.
5. You will receive a printed version of your application form.
You can apply for your Smart National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (SNICOP) by visiting the Pak-Identity website and have it delivered to your doorstep.
As of August 2024, the fee structure is as follows:
– Normal fee: Rs5,820
– Urgent fee: Rs8,730
– Executive fee: Rs11,640
For online applications, the fees are:
– Normal fee: $20
– Urgent fee: $30
– Executive fee: $40
