With soaring electricity bills and frequent load-shedding, many in Pakistan are turning to solar energy to reduce costs and avoid unreliable power supply.
As the price of electricity in the country has surged to 65 rupees per unit, the cost of solar energy offers a stark contrast—ranging from just 2 to 7 rupees per unit, depending on the system size.
In response, both homeowners and businesses are increasingly adopting solar systems. Large installations, such as a 3000 MW solar setup, provide significant savings and stability.
Imported electrical appliances further contribute to lowering energy expenses when paired with solar technology.
Experts recommend not only installing a solar system but also ensuring high-quality components, including batteries, to protect electrical devices and ensure system efficiency.
For a typical 5 to 10 marla house, a solar system between 3 to 10 KW is generally sufficient and costs between 5 to 15 lakh rupees.
These systems are capable of powering essential appliances, including air conditioners, if the system exceeds 5 KW.
As solar energy becomes a more viable and cost-effective solution, it offers a promising alternative to the high and fluctuating costs of conventional electricity, helping individuals and businesses manage their energy needs more sustainably.
