KARACHI: The Sindh government has imposed a ban on pillion riding in multiple districts, including Karachi, to ensure law and order during processions and Rabiul Awwal gatherings.
The provincial home department issued a notification announcing the restriction, which will take effect starting tomorrow in various districts.
The ban will apply in cities such as Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana, Nawabshah, Sukkur, Kashmore, Khairpur, Dadu, Qambar Shahdadkot, and Ghotki.
In Karachi, pillion riding will be prohibited in District South on September 13, 14, 16, and 17; in District East on September 13, 16, and 17; and in District West on September 16 and 17. In Hyderabad, the restriction will begin on the 12th of Rabiul Awwal, while Dadu will enforce the ban on September 16 and 17.
Nawabshah and Sanghar will implement the ban on September 17. Sukkur will enforce the restriction on September 16 and 17, and in Khairpur and Ghotki, the ban will be in place from September 13 to 17.
