With Election Day approaching, several companies are offering special perks alongside the “I Voted” sticker, including discounted rides to polling stations and free treats.
Though fewer than half of U.S. states require paid time off to vote, some businesses are showing their support by providing freebies to those who head to the polls. Check with local establishments, as many may have their own Election Day promotions. Here are some nationwide offers:
Rideshare: Uber users will see Election Day promotions in the “Go Vote!” section of the app, including a 50% discount on rides to polling places (up to $10) and assistance in locating the nearest polling site. Lyft is also providing a 50% discount (up to $10) on rides to the polls. Riders can preload the code VOTE24 before or on November 5.
Car Rentals: Hertz is offering a free day when customers rent for two or more days between October 21 and November 5 as part of their “Drive the Vote” promotion.
Krispy Kreme: In celebration of “DOUGHmocracy,” participating Krispy Kreme locations will give away a free original glazed doughnut, no purchase or proof of voting needed. Early and absentee voters can also receive an “I Voted” sticker at select locations.
