OGRA announces new RLNG tariffs for January 2025
ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced adjustments in Regassified Liquified Natural Gas (RLNG) prices for January 2025, reflecting a decrease of up to 1.9% for Sui Northern Pipeline Gas Limited (SNGPL) and a 0.45% increase for Sui Southern Gas Pipeline Limited (SSGCL).
According to the revised rates, RLNG prices for SNGPL’s transmission dropped to $11.72 per MMBtu in January, compared to $11.96 in December, marking a 1.98% or $0.24 decrease. Similarly, prices for SNGPL distribution fell to $12.66 per MMBtu, down from $12.89 in December, showing a reduction of 1.81% or $0.23.
On the other hand, RLNG prices for SSGCL transmission increased to $10.58 per MMBtu in January, up from $10.54 in December, reflecting a 0.44% or $0.46 rise. Prices for SSGCL distribution climbed to $12.60 per MMBtu in January, up from $12.54 in December, indicating a 0.45% or $0.55 increase.
This variation in prices is attributed to recent downward trends in the international market, coupled with the stabilization of the local currency against the US Dollar. These factors have contributed to shaping the RLNG pricing adjustments in the domestic market.
