The Rupee on Tuesday depreciated by 06 paisa against the US Dollar in the interbank trading and closed at Rs 280.42 against the previous day’s closing of Rs 280.36.

According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of the US dollar in the open market stood at Rs280.60 and Rs282.1, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Euro recorded a decline of Rs1.54, closing at Rs302.56, compared to the previous day’s Rs304.01, as per the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

The Japanese Yen dropped by 01 paisa, settling at Rs1.86, while the British Pound depreciated by Rs1.12, trading at Rs362.05, down from Rs363.17.

The Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal saw a slight increase of 01 paisa each, closing at Rs76.34 and Rs74.75, respectively. However, in the open market, the Saudi Riyal (SAR) remained stable at Rs74.7 on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, with its selling rate recorded at Rs74.25.

The Saudi Riyal (SAR), the official currency of Saudi Arabia, is divided into 100 halalas.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share a strong economic partnership, with the kingdom providing significant financial support. Recently, Saudi Arabia extended a $3 billion deposit for another year to help stabilize Pakistan’s economy.

Additionally, millions of Pakistani expatriates in Saudi Arabia continue to send substantial remittances back home, contributing significantly to Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves.
