Pakistan COVID-19 Update: Infection toll nearly 50,000 death toll stands at 1,017

Death toll due to novel coronavirus in Pakistan has risen to 1017 with number of infections is nearly 50,000.

Pakistan confirmed 32 more deaths from novel coronavirus in one day taking the nationwide number of fatalities to 1017. According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 2,193 persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 in 24 hours.

Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Till now 17,382 novel coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 18,964 in Sindh, 6,815 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 2,968 in Balochistan, 1,235 in Islamabad, 579 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 148 in Azad Kashmir. Patients are under treatment at quarantine centers of 462 hospitals where 7,295 beds are available. Pakistan has so far conducted 429,600 coronavirus tests and 15,346 in last 24 hours. 14,155 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas many are in critical condition.

Today, Prime Minister Imran Khan has also called a special session of the federal cabinet. He will be presiding the meeting. The meeting will discuss the latest developments related to the coronavirus situation in the country.,

Balochistan govt shared video on instructions, guidelines to follow during pandemic. In its official twitter handle, it wrote: The war against Covid-19 is not finished yet as SMART LOCKDOWN is extended. The Instructions and guidelines in the video regarding precautions may protect us & our beloveds from suffering and anguish of coronavirus.

Earlier Sindh government has decided to allow holding congregational prayers on Eid-ul-Fitr. Provincial Minister Saeed Ghani said that prohibiting prayers when most other things have been restored would be unjustified.
