Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul Wazir’s Covid-19 novel definition went viral on social media.

She said on a state-run current affairs’ TV show that,

“COVID-19 means that it has 19 points that can be applied in any country in any way.”

People trolled her after the statement. Today, on Monday, Minister of State for Climate Change appeared in BOL News’ show.  While talking about all the criticism she faced after her definition of COVID-19, Zartaj said everyone is allowed to make a mistake.

“Anyone can commit a mistake. Even the Almighty forgives people for their mistakes, why don’t people do the same?”

She went on to say,

“People should know how to respect women.”

Gul explained she was in a different state of mind when she appeared on that show but that doesn’t mean people can make fun of her.

“Anyone can be in any state of mind during a live show. Sometimes people say things which they did not actually mean to say. It does not mean we make fun of them publically.”

She concluded by saying,

“I have apologized for my unintentional mistake, this topic must be closed by now.”

Apart from this, the climate change minister talked about how PM Khan is taking all the precautions to eradicate the virus as soon as possible from Pakistan.

“PM Khan has one policy for coronavirus since day first. He does not want his people to starve to death neither he wants to spread the fear of the deadly virus among them.”

She continued to say,

“Imran Khan’s policy is the best for the current circumstances.”

During the interview, Zartaj Gul Wazir also explained how the Federal government is helping te Sindh government to improve their health facilities.

“The hospitals in Sindh were not functioning properly. The Federal government has accepted all their demands and provided every health equipment to the hospitals under Sindh Government.”

She clarified there is no fight between the Sindh and Federal Government.

After she was being trolled on social media, Zartaj Gul took to her official Twitter account and tweeted,

“Every day I appear on national TV and speak without a piece of paper (parchi). I wanted to say that the infection’s effect and intensity vary across different countries. Instead of crying on the situation over a minor mistake, maybe that will be better for them. I am not afraid of criticism, it strengthens me.”
