Pakistan Coronavirus Update: Smart Lockdown imposed in several areas

The number of positive coronavirus cases in Pakistan has soared to 148925 with 2839 recorded deaths.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 2028 persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 in 24 hours. However,  55 more deaths reported in the country.

Punjab remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic followed by Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Baluchistan.

Till now 55,878 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 55,581 in Sindh, 18,472 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 8,327 in Balochistan, 8,857 in Islamabad, 1,143 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 663 in Azad Kashmir.

The country recorded 20 recoveries in the past 24 hours, taking the total number to 56,390, the government’s Covid-19 portal said.

Punjab has reported 1,740 fresh cases in the past 24 hours, the government’s Covid-19 portal said.

Islamabad, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir have collectively reported 318 cases, according to the government’s Covid-19 portal.

Smart Lockdowns Imposed:

On the other hand Smart lockdown implemented in 4 areas of Peshawar.

Ashrafia Colony, Chinar Road, Danishabad and Hayatabad Phase One has been included in the areas where smart lockdown implemented. DC Peshawar said that entry and exit will be closed in these areas during the Smart Lockdown. Smart lockdown was imposed due to the rapid spread of Corona.

Furthermore Smart lockdown in 3 valleys of Upper Chitral has also been imposed.  In addition to this, Smart lockdown implemented in six areas of Abbottabad .
