Coronavirus outbreaks in Middle East once again, threatening economies

COVID-19 contaminations are rising again in different parts of the Middle East, posting a new threat to the region’s economies which is already collapsed by the oil prices.

Lower the oil prices this year and the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 have clouded predictions for a rebound. The outbreak continues to spread in OPEC’s second-biggest oil producer Iraq.

UAE has managed 11 million test more than of its population although its population is about 10 million. Iran lacks behind from their neighbors and managed to get only 4.3 million tests from its population of 80 million, and also has the highest fatality rate in this region Iran’s situation is getting worst day by day.

Iran confirmed about 30,000 causalities which is more than any other country in this region. Last week Iran’s health minister said, “Some 25 million could be infected”

It was based on studies of different cities of the country, which showed that more than 30 percent people suffered with the virus.

Iraq has more than 400,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 100,000 fatalities, Iraq also has one of the worst situations in the region. Cases are increasing on daily basis.
