LHC seeks response from OGRA
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has sought a response from the federal government and OGRA in the petition against the increase in the prices of petrol.
Justice Shahid Karim of Lahore High Court heard the case against the increase in the prices of petroleum products.
The petition maintained that the prices of petroleum products are decreasing worldwide and while Pakistan has been witnessing a sharp increase in the prices.
The petitioner said that there is no system for determining the prices of petroleum products in Pakistan. “The recent increase in the prices of petroleum products will further increase inflation.”
The petition requested the court to annul the recent increase in the prices of petroleum products.
Lahore High Court issued a notice and sought a response from the federal government and OGRA in this regard.
Pertinently, petroleum prices have been once again increased by the government in Pakistan by Rs22.20 per litre.
