Karachi University Plans To Establish UNESCO Chair

The Memorandum of understanding MoU for the establishment of the Chair was agreed to sign in the absence of UNESCO representatives by Dr. Khalid Mehmood Iraqi.

An agreement was reached on Friday between the University of Karachi (UoK)) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to create a UNESCO Chair on ‘Medicinal and Biorganic Natural Product Chemistry at the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) of the Karachi University (UoK)

October 2, 2020, Audrey Azoulay the director-general of UNESCO’s office situated in Paris also signed a similar MoU previously. As indicated by the MoU, the ICCBS will organize the Chair to take part in UNESCO projects and exercises with the end goal of reinforcing worldwide scholarly participation.

This year UNESCO General Assembly also endorsed the UNESCO Chair.
