Islamabad High Court suspends notice of appointment of Abrar ul Haq as chairman of Red Crescent Society of Pakistan.

According to the details, Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Athar Minallah heard the petition of former Chairman Red Crescent Society Pakistan Dr Saeed Ullah and asked Attorney General Anwar Mansoor to inform the law whether the appointment is a special appointment.

According to sources, the lawyer petitioner told the court that the managing body had made the rules under which the chairman would be appointed for three years.

Chief Justice Athar Minallah asked where is the procedure of the removal of the chairman written?

To this the lawyer replied that there was no way to remove the Chairman in the Rules.

The court questioned the Attorney General that the managing body made the rules, how it could be removed from office, the chairman could not be fired under Rule 10A.

According to sources, the Attorney General said that the executive has the power to dismiss the chairman at any time; the notification of chairman’s dismissal has not been challenged; there is no charge against the chairman so he has not been notified.

The Chief Justice remarked how the government can remove the chairman, despite his role in the law.
