Disney bringing Frozen 2 to Disney+ streaming three months early

Disney has bumped up the Disney+ streaming release date for Frozen 2 to this weekend.

Many families certainly feeling the stress of coronavirus and could probably use a break to watch Frozen 2.

It’s also a high-profile exclusive for Disney’s streaming service.

It wanted for a hit of its own ever since The Mandalorian season one came to an end.

The press release didn’t indicate exactly what time the movie will premiere on Disney+, but said it will be available only in HD initially only in the US.

From March 17 it will also come to Canada, the Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand.

It will be available in Ultra HD to all subscribers.

Frozen 2, originally set to join the platform on June 26, will now arrive to Disney Plus on Sunday, May 15.

“The film has captivated audiences around the world through its powerful themes of perseverance and the importance of family.

We feel pleased to share this heartwarming story early with our Disney+ subscribers,” said CEO of The Walt Disney Company.

The press release says the company wanted to surprise families with some joy during the ongoing challenging period.

Earlier, the animated movie went on to become the biggest animated movie of all time, earning $1.3 billion around the world.
