Renowned American singer, John Prine dies of Coronavirus complications aged 73.

John Prine, known for his influential songs and compositions.

Whilst his treatment, Prine’s wife, Fiona had shared online that the song-writer was on his eighth day in the ICU, with both lungs suffering from pneumonia.

He was hospitalized last month after sudden Coronavirus symptoms came to light, a family source said.

John Prine won several Grammys and overcame two bouts of cancer to record and tour into his 70s.

Born and raised in Maywood, Illinois, Prine learned to play the guitar at the age of 14.

Moreover, he attended classes at Chicago’s Old Town School of Folk music.

The folk-singer known for humorous lyrics about love, life and serious songs with social commentary, or which recollect melancholy tales from his life.

In early 1998, he had diagnosed with squamous cell cancer on the right of his neck.

However, he had a major surgery to remove a substantial amount of diseased tissue, followed by six weeks of therapy.

In 2013, Prine underwent surgery to remove cancer in his left lung.

However, after the therapy, a physical therapy put him through an unusual workout to build stamina.
