Muslims in India celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with full religious ardour amidst closed mosques due to COVID-19 pandemic on Monday, May 25.

The old city areas, which are usually crowded during Ramadan as people go for shopping to buy new clothes for the festival, wore a deserted look.

People have been advised by Shahi Imams of Jama Masjid and Fatehpuri Masjid to stay indoors and offer Eid namaz at their homes and following proper health precautions.

However, Celebrities from Bollywood industry, cricketers and politicians, via their social media handles, extend heartiest Eid greetings and hope the pandemic situation to end soon.

Bollywood’s Beauty Katrina Kaif shared a boomerang on Instagram and wished her fans by writing, “Eid Mubarak” alongside.

Sharing a stunning picture of herself, actress Sonam Kapoor wrote on Instagram, “Eid Mubarak my brothers and sisters, may this year’s trials and tribulations become foundations of a better tomorrow. Thank you for praying for us this whole holy month of Ramazan. Have a blessed Eid.”

Taking to Twitter, Sophie wrote, “#EidMubarak to all my friends celebrating today..May Allah bless u & ur loved ones with peace, prosperity, good health & happiness.
