Selena Gomez, reacting to the brutal killing of African American George Floyd, said that we all need to do better and not sit in silence after this act of inhumanity.

Singer Selena Gomez took to her Instagram handle and shared a photo from the protest being taken place for justice for George.

She wrote, “I have spent the last 24 hours just trying to process this all. Nothing anyone says can take back what has happened. But we can and must all make sure to take action.”

“Too many black lives have been taken from us for far too long. They deserve better. They deserve to be heard,” Selena further said.

“We all need to do better and not sit in silence as this injustice continues. #blacklivesmatter”

Moreover, The United States (US) has imposed curfews in cities to stop clashes between protesters and police after the death of George Floyd.

Violent clashes have taken place in at least 30 cities, riot police have used tear gas and rubber bullets as protesters burned their vehicles.

George Floyd, 46, died on Monday after a white Minneapolis pinned Floyd’s neck to the ground from his knee for several minutes.

A video of the incident got viral in which Floyd was seen requesting to officers to leave him. He was saying, “I can’t breathe” before he died. The officer’s knee was still on his neck when he died.

Former policeman Derek Chauvin has been charged with murder. He is due to appear before the court on Monday.

President Donald Trump accused “looters and anarchists” for the violence.

Protesters threw stones at riot officers in Chicago. Police launched tear gas in response and arrested several people.
