Pakistani showbiz celebrities felt ‘heartbroken’ over the loss of precious lives in a massive Beirut explosion in the city of Lebanon.

According to reports, a massive explosion near Beirut killed at least 100 people, left more than 4,000 injured and sent shockwaves across the capital. The explosion shattered windows, causing apartment balconies to collapse.

Shortly after the viral explosion videos, Pakistani celebrities turned to social media to express their grief and sorrow.

Leading actress Mehwish Hayat tweeted with a broken heart emoji: “The footage coming in from Beirut is truly devastating. My heart grieves for all the people suffering… Sending them lots of prayers and love #Beirut #BeirutExplosion #Lebanon.”

Humayun Saeed, sharing the photo of the shattered buildings near the blast site, wrote, “Prayers for Beirut. May Allah protect us all.”

Hamza Ali Abbasi wrote, “#Beirut Ya Allah have mercy… Prayers for Lebanon. Way too tragic and heartbreaking.”

Kubra Khan said, “I still can’t process the magnitude of the explosion in Beirut. My heart and prayers go out to all affected by it. May Allah have mercy on his servants #PrayForBeirut #PrayForTheWorld.”

Footage of the blast shared by residents on social media showed a column of smoke rising from the port district followed by an enormous blast. Those filming what initially appeared to be a big blaze were thrown backwards by the shock of the explosion.

At least 10 bodies were taken to hospitals, a security source told. The Lebanese Red Cross said hundreds of people were taken hospitals for treatment.
