Singer and actor Ali Zafar has been awarded the Pride of Performance (Tamgha Husn-e-Karkardagi) at the Governor House Lahore on the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day. However, it seems that actress Iffat Omar is not happy with this.
Ali Zafar has been honored for his services in Pakistan’s literary and arts industry as well as his continuous humanitarian efforts.
Actress Iffat Omar criticized the government and said that the award is given to an alleged harasser in Pakistan only.
She said, “Nowhere else in the 21st century. Pakistan Zindabaad.”

Singer Meesha Shafi had earlier accused Ali Zafar of harassing her. She went to the court and filed the case against Ali Zafar.
In the appeal, filed on August 2018, Meesha Shafi had challenged the Punjab governor’s decision to dismiss her complaint against Zafar whom she has accused of sexual harassment.
Justice Shahid Kareem announced the verdict in the case after hearing final arguments by the lawyers of both Meesha and Ali Zafar.
Barrister Ambreen Qureshi took to Twitter and shared the news that Meesha Shafi’s case has been dismissed by Lahore High Court and Ali Zafar has been exonerated for the third time by the court.
