Motorway incident: Celebrities raise voice for the cause

Popular figures of the entertainment industry have taken to the streets to Karachi to demand justice for the Motorway gang-rape incident.

Celebrities including Mahira Khan, Ali Rehman Khan, Ayesha Omar, Yasir Hussain, Aijaz Aslam, Wajahat Rauf and many others were seen protesting against the inhuman incident outside the Karachi Press Club. They were holding placards and banners in support of women and children, who face sexual abuse in Pakistan.

“Harassment is everywhere, but the problem stems from the mindset,” Mahira said, while speaking to a news outlet during the protest.

Mahira said that rapists feel they have the power to commit the abuse.  “It’s like a power dynamic and we need to understand that.”
