Hamza Ali Abbasi, the most loved and respected Pakistani actor, in his recent interview, criticizes the presence of unchecked item numbers in Pakistan’s film industry.
The Mann Mayal actor was asked regarding his disdain for the item numbers by a local outlet. Also, if he has formed an opinion yet about them in connection with the Islamic values.
The actor of Alif serial proceeded to add that these ‘sexual appeal’ songs are disturbing when younger children access them easily.
He also argued that focusing entirely on objectifying women has been the “lowest form of art,” calling the whole fiasco “nonsense.”
Hamza Ali Abbasi then supported his opinion by citing the director of an Indian movie 3 idiots. The actor told Rajkumar Hirani’s movie was a hit despite not featuring any “obscene songs”.
“You don’t demean a woman on the screen and call it art. It may be my opinion but then why aren’t strip shows art?” he added.
“I don’t know why we’ve come to a point where we can sit with our families and watch this,” Abbasi concluded.
