The year 2020 has kind of been a bummer and the release of many anime movies, originally slated to premiere this year, have been delayed due to the novel COVID-19 pandemic. But 2021 is gearing up to become a better year for anime lovers.
So, here is the list of the top five movies to look forward to in 2021.
The CG animated film by Goro Miyazaki looks like an enchanting fairy tale. The latest film from Studio Ghibli is Earwig and the Witch, coming six years after their last movie When Marnie Was There. The English version of the movie will be one of 2021’s first anime release.
The final entry in the Evangelion saga is Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time. The film was considerably delayed because of the duties of Hideaki Anno directing Shin Godzilla and COVID-19. But it is all set to release in the upcoming year.
Sailor Moon R: Movie, who came back to reinvent the Guardians of the Sailors. The release of Sailor Moon Eternal: Part 1 is scheduled for January 2021, while the release of Sailor Moon: Eternal: Part 2 is set for February 2021. There has been no American release date confirmed.
