Before Donald Trump’s presidency term end, he granted leniency and pardoned multiple individuals including rappers, Lil Wayne and Kodak Black.
Trump is believed to have a pretty lengthy list of names for his final round of commutations and pardons, an estimate of 50 to 100 people.
A few hours prior to Joe Biden being sworn in as the 46th President of the United States, Trump pardoned 73 people and reduced the sentences of 70 others.
The list included Lil Wayne, who was charged guilty for a federal gun case and had to face up to 10 years in jail before being pardoned.
After a photograph of the ‘Lollipop’ rapper meeting Trump at the White House made rounds online, there came about a controversy regarding their meeting.
There were speculations about the move endorsing him for the presidential elections against Joe Biden, just days prior to the election.
Additionally Kodak Black received a court-ordered sentence for illegal possession of a firearm after he was found guilty.
He was awaiting his sentencing but had already received 46 months in federal prison, half of which he has served. He had been charged for wrongly stating that he had bought the weapon.
Previously, rapper Weezy posed for a photo op with 45 and promoted his track record with criminal justice reform. He also voiced his support for the President and proposed his ‘platinum plan’ for the Black community.
Trump also praised and appreciated Lil Wayne as an activist and called him a “really nice guy.”
