Sayonee: Netizens slam Indian singer for ‘plagiarizing’ Pakistani song
Indian music industry recently released a new song Sayonee sung by none...
Bollywood often copies Pakistani music and many of the Bollywood songs are a remake of the songs sung by Pakistani singers.
From Munni Badnam to Afghan Jalebi, there are many songs that were replicated by the Indian music producers.
Just a few months ago, Indian singers Arijit Singh and Jyoti Nooran recomposed the super hit song ‘Sayonee’ from the Pakistani band ‘Junoon’ sung in the ’90s.
Without legal permission, the song was sung by Indian singers in such a way that even the Indian audience, including Pakistanis, criticized it.
This time, India copied one of the super-hit songs “Bibi Sanam Janam” which was sung by Zeb Bangash and Haniya Bangash in 2010.
This Persian language folk song became very popular at that time and still is being loved by several people.
However, India’s leading music platform T-Series has recently released a replica that has left listeners very disappointed.
Pakistani actor Osman Khalid Butt joked in a Twitter post that one should listen to it at his own risk.
Sung by the legendary Indian playback singer Usha Uthap, the song titled Bibi Sanam featured in Richa Chadda’s 2019 film Cabaret and the song turned out to be flop just as the movie. From horrible additional lyrics to bad composition, there is nothing that one could enjoy the Bollywood version of the song.
