A special event named ‘Ghalib Fehmi’ was organized at the Arts Council of Pakistan on Sunday to pay honor to him. Scholar Dr. Noman-ul-Haq and others talked about the artist.
His letters and poetry are still highly popular, readers still purchase books and read the content written by the veteran poet.
His real name was Mirza Asad Ullah Khan Ghalib. He has used Ghalib in his poetry as Takhallus.
Ghalib was born on 27th December 1797 in Agra. His father’s name was Abdullah Baig. He got married to Umrao Begum at the age of thirteen. He did not bear children.
His letters and poetry have been compiled in several books, including Deewan-e-Ghalib. A lot of films were made on Ghalib’s life as well.
The poet used to mention psychology, philosophy, the universe, human affairs, and other topics in his impressive content. He used to write sarcastic poetry as well.
Apart from that, the legend has done exceptional work in the Persian language as well.
He used to live a life of poverty. It is because he could not get his proportion of property from English people. It is also because he did not spend his life with austerity. He reached in his remaining years at the place of Bahadur Shah Zafar.
He was awarded Najam-ud-Daula and Dubair-ul-mulk. He was also awarded an allowance.
Mirza Ghalib had seen violence, anarchy, and several ups and downs in his lives.
Unfortunately, he lost his life in 1869 and left poetry lovers in mourn. But, he will remain alive in the hearts.
