Famed American singer Taylor Swift bags another huge achievement as she secured...
Famed American singer Taylor Swift, whose relationships have been publicly scrutinized for years, rebuked video-streaming platform Netflix over a ‘deeply sexist’ joke pointing to her love life.
A Netflix show ‘Ginny And Georgia‘ caused a stir as Taylor Swift criticized the platform for joking about her dating history.
In a scene where the mother and daughter characters argue about relationships, Ginny tells her mother: “You go through men faster than Taylor Swift.”
However, the ‘deeply sexist joke’ about Swift caused a major outrage among her fans and made the hashtag #RESPECTTAYLORSWIFT trend on Twitter.
Some of her fans even demanded to boycott the series.
Later, taking to Twitter, the pop-singer jumped in to claim, “Hey Ginny & Georgia, 2010 called and it wants its lazy, deeply sexist joke back. How about we stop degrading hard-working women by defining this horse shit as FuNnY.”
She, after partnering with Netflix for Miss Americana in 2020, bashed Netflix for joking about her personal life. “This outfit doesn’t look cute on you. Happy Women’s History Month I guess,” she tweeted.
