Leading Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat explained the meaning of writing (TI) next to her name on her official Twitter account.
When Mehwish Hayat participated in a private TV program, the host of the show asked the actress about her Twitter account, to which she said that the TI on her Twitter account means Medal of Excellence (Tamgha-i-Imtiaz) and not PTI.
The actress said that the word TI is equivalent to the word OBE. “If you can write the word OBE next to your name, I have written TI (Medal of Excellence) in front of my name.”
During the show, Mehwish Hayat was also asked about the severe criticism leveled against her after she received the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz.
To this Mehwish Hayat said that anyone can give their opinion on whether she should receive the Tamgha-I-Imtiaz or not but she was given Tamgha-I-Imtiaz for a reason other than her performances or hard work. She also said that the criticism she faced doesn’t mean anything to her.
Fans of the actress were curious about this as they thought that the word TI means PTI.
Mehwish Hayat was awarded the ‘Medal of Excellence’ in the Presidency on Pakistan Day in 2019.
