In the interview, Priyanka asked her about ‘the expectation of always kind of being perfect’. Simone replied, “I feel like that’s the hardest part of my career. I don’t want to say job because I chose to do it, but I feel like always meeting people’s needs, every single day, all the time is probably the hardest thing that I go through.”
Speaking on dealing with pressure, she said, “Therapy. Therapy is everything. I feel like nowadays if you say you’re going to therapy nobody questions it anymore. But before if I said ‘I’m going to therapy’, ‘well are you going to a cuckoo doctor?’.”
Note that the Gymnastics champion Simone Biles announced to withdraw from the team after performing poorly on the vault in the final of the team competition.
Simone Biles has said, “mental health concerns” were behind her shock dropping out from the women’s gymnastics team final at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
The 24-year-old athlete, widely considered to be the best gymnast of all time had been expected to feature in all six events at the Games that included a defence of her all-around crown.
“I do not trust myself anymore,” said Biles, fighting back tears while speaking to the world’s media. “I have to focus on my mental health,” she said.
