David Von Ancken, the director of Seraphim Falls, died at his home in California after a two-year struggle with stomach cancer.

David Von Ancken has directed a number of well-known television shows as well as cinema ventures. He’s also directed shows like The Shield, Person of Interest, The Following, Intelligence, House of Lies, MacGyver, The Crossing, and The Purge throughout the last two decades.

‘David was the kind of person who walked into a room and you couldn’t help but immediately gravitate towards him,’ Meg London-Boche, David’s life, and business partner said in a statement.

‘His vibrant energy towards life and years of personal adventures carried into his extraordinary direction of television and film. He was constantly formulating stories in his mind and always eager to share them with the world,’ She added.

The episodic director worked on over three dozen programs over his illustrious career, including Without a Trace, Gossip Girl, Oz, The Vampire Diaries, and The Mentalist.

Von Ancken also directed episodes of CBS’ Cold Case and CSI: NY, as well as Showtime’s Californication, for a total of seven episodes.

David Von Ancken was an American film, television director, and screenwriter. He directed one feature film, which is the 2006 Western Seraphim Falls.
