Leading Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and her mother Sunanda Shetty have been charged with an alleged fraud case in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India.

According to Indian media, two FIRs have been registered against Shilpa and her mother in two different police stations in Lucknow and police have expedited the investigation for both the cases.

Actress Shilpa Shetty runs a wellness centre, where her mother Sunanda Shetty is the director and the actress herself is the chairman of the company.

It is alleged in the case that the Bollywood actress and her mother took millions of rupees from two people to open a branch of the wellness centre but did not keep their promise.

According to the reports, the police authorities have sent notices to Shilpa Shetty and her mother Sunanda Shetty in order to further investigate the case.

In other news, Bombay High Court dismissed petitions on Saturday filed by Raj Kundra and his right-hand man Ryan Thorpe questioning their arrest in the porn films case. The judge said, ““The petitioners, who are now in judicial custody, did not deserve any relief at this point.”

The British-Indian will remain in jail until further notice.
