‘Lagdi Lahore Di’ singer discloses about his song, says it’s inspired by a Lahori model

We all enjoy Guru Randhawa’s popular Punjabi hit song “Lagdi Lahore Di.” Did you realize that the song is about a real Lahori girl?

In an interview Guru Randhawa, a well-known Indian musician revealed that the song Lagdi Lahore Di was written for a model from Lahore.

His friend brought up how a model from Lahore wanted to be featured in his music video. He was in Dubai at the time, then suddenly his mind clicked the word Lahore and he came up with the idea of the song.

He also said that “as for Lahore’s girl being featured in his music video, that couldn’t happen due to the current political situation between India and Pakistan”.

Perhaps one day, the women behind Lagdi Lahore Di’s song will appear in a Guru Randhawa music video. Till then we can only imagine the mystery woman.
