Orlando Bloom, the acclaimed actor, is recounting how he almost escaped death following a terrifying fall in 1988.
The 44-year-old actor took to social media with a post that reflected on an accident he experienced in 1988 that nearly killed him.
The Pirates of the Caribbean actor shared a shot of himself riding a bicycle while wearing a back brace. It was accompanied by a second photo of Bloom, who was wearing a cycling jersey, cycle shorts, and a helmet in a recent photo.

In a 2005 interview with a magazine, the Lord of the Rings star described the incident that “crushed” his spine.
“I didn’t have a healthy regard for life and death until then, and I didn’t realise we weren’t indestructible. And for four days, I contemplated the prospect of spending the rest of my life in a wheelchair. In my thoughts, I visited some gloomy regions. He has stated, “I understood, I’m either going to walk again or I’m not.”
“The doctor claimed he didn’t know the extent of the spinal cord damage. I recall him telling me that and thinking to myself, “I’ve never glanced at ceilings before!” And I’m starting to wonder if I’ll spend the rest of my life staring at ceilings,” he continued.
