Facing one delay after another, Kahay Dil Jidhar will finally hit the screens near you on 17th December. And with the trailer out, the anticipation has definitely sky-rocketed. Touching on the realms of drug abuse, corruption, mafias, power, and money, director Jalal Rumi is all set to tap into the conscience of the audience with Kahay Dil Jidhar.

Featuring 4 friends full of zeal to change the existing state of affairs, the film stars Junaid Khan, Mansha Pasha, Kamran Bari, Roma Michael, Atiqa Odho and Sajid Hassan among others. The trailer takes us back and forth between their university days and present life. The squad that was once care-free is no more a squad in the present day and it seems that the 4 have met again, intertwined in a mess that they’re trying to handle. With dialogues from their student life foreshadowing the present day, Mansha is a journalist on a mission and Junaid is a fearless cop. How things turn out for Roma and Kamran remains unclear, however, one can see that during Kamran’s university days he is into drugs and from what we can tell, it hasn’t ended well for him.

Keeping Junaid Khan’s cameo in Bin Roye aside, Kahay Dil Jidhar will mark Junaid Khan’s debut entry in a central role, that too a happening one. Last seen in the critically acclaimed Laal Kabootar, Mansha Pasha plays a vehement journalist aching to expose it all; dirty politics, drugs mafias, corruption, you name it. Kamran Bari who most of us know from the band Suroor, is a new entrant in the field of filmmaking and acting with this film.’ Atiqa Odho looks incredible as an Anti-Narcotics Officer and so does Sajid Hassan as a corrupt politician. The cast also features another debutant, Roma Michael, a model who is ready to prove her mettle in acting.

The trailer impressed us with layered characters, well-choreographed action sequences, and the cinematography, but the sound quality and Junaid Khan’s fake mustache seemed a bit off in the teaser which we’re hoping isn’t the case with the movie.

Kahay Dil Jidhar has been penned by Kamran Bari, produced by Wijdaan Films and directed by Jalal Rumi. It is high time Pakistani cinema explores the real problems of our society and we’re hoping Kahay Dil Jidhar won’t disappoint.
