With cricket buffs already missing the T20 World Cup, the high-octane clash between arch-rivals Pakistan and India in the ICC T20 World Cup broke the viewership records all over the world.

The rivalry generated a record television reach of 167 million views and record consumption of 15.9 billion minutes in India alone on the Star India Network. Digital consumption records also exploded as the fierce encounter between the two teams took place. The UK also saw a 60% increase in the viewership for the match.

The encounter has now become the most viewed T20I match in history, exceeding the previous all-time high record of the India-West Indies semi-final match from the 2016 edition of the ICC event held in India.
