PRINCE Because Harry has decided not to return to the United Kingdom for a planned service honoring the Duke of Edinburgh, he will be unable to visit the man dubbed his “second father.”

It was pointed out that the Duke of Sussex, 37, would miss the opportunity to show support to Mark Dyer, a former Welsh Guards officer who has been a mentor to him, when it was revealed he will not attend the funeral of his late grandpa, Prince Philip, in Westminster Abbey on March 29.

After six weeks in the hospital, the 55-year-old, who is battling cancer and has been called Harry’s “second dad,” went home last week.

Richard Eden, Daily Mail’s Diary Editor, tweeted: “One other sad outcome of #PrinceHarry’s refusal to visit his homeland is that he hasn’t seen his mentor and ‘second father’ Mark Dyer, who’s spent more than six weeks in hospital fighting cancer. Former Army officer Dyer underwent 14 hours of surgery last week.”

The Duke, who lives in California with Meghan and their two children, is fighting the Home Office over a judgment not to let him pay for police security for his family when in the UK.
