A FORMER royal security officer has chastised Harry for making “excuses” for not attending Philip’s burial service, claiming that it is a decision he will “live to regret.”
Richard Griffin, who oversaw the Queen and Prince Philip’s security for 14 years, attended today’s Thanksgiving Service at Westminster Abbey.
The former royal security detail, on the other hand, is enraged and unhappy that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were unable to attend the service owing to a “pathetic pretext” regarding the couple’s security.
Richard told Sky News that Harry’s absence was “a huge disappointment for everyone.”
He continued: “Certainly around where I was they thought he should have been here. All this nonsense about he couldn’t get protection, as far as I’m concerned that was a pathetic excuse, he should have been here to honor his grandfather.
“At the end of the day, if he was that worried about security he could have stuck with his brother and father who have got wonderful security. He would have been more than safe.”
Meanwhile, experts have chastised the Duke for not attending Philip’s funeral today.
“It’s really unfortunate that Harry and will not be at Prince Philip’s funeral ceremony, and I think Harry could regret it one day,” Royal author Phil Dampier said ahead of the service.
