Prince William and Kate Middleton, who are currently on a visit to Jamaica, are mocked for their futile efforts to revert the realm to Common Wealth.

Jamaicans have demanded independence from the Queen and want to hold a referendum to become a republic.

Noel Phillips, a correspondent for Good Morning Britain, believes Jamaica will “begin the process of removing the Queen as Head of State” as soon as William and Kate return.

“The vote is put to the people of the country to decide whether they want to leave or not,” he said.

“Because the Prime Minister, Andrew Holness, has a large majority, he does not need to go to the people.”

She called the Cambridges’ royal tour a “utter failure” and “tone-deaf.”

Dr. Shola Mos-Shogbamimu also tweeted about the current trip, criticising the monarchy.

“Once the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge leave, the Jamaican government will begin the process of deposing the Queen as Head of State.”

For the first time as a couple, William and Kate have travelled to the Caribbean.
