There is no comparison between RRR and The Kashmir Files, according to Ram Gopal Varma, who believes the latter is a game-changer for the business.

Ram Gopal Varma discussed how The Kashmir Files and RRR have influenced the Indian cinema industry in an interview. The global box office for SS Rajamouli’s RRR, starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan, has already surpassed Rs 1000 crore. At the same time, the box office receipts for The Kashmir Files had surpassed Rs 250 crore. Ram Gopal Varma believes that The Kashmir Files, which is being produced on a budget of Rs 10 to 14 crores, is the most significant game-changer. RRR’s budget is close to Rs 50,000 crores, as we all know.

According to India Today, Ram Gopal Varma does not see RRR as a game-changer and believes it is incapable of effecting change. He described the film as “opulently mounted.” Such films, he remarked, only come along every four to five years. He further stated that with a film like this, the producers would only trust someone with a proven track record like SS Rajamouli. The Kashmir Files, he believes, is a game-changer. He believes the film would instill confidence in filmmakers. India Today quoted Ram Gopal Varma. “That is, if you make a film on a budget of ₹10 crore, and it spins over ₹250 crore, look at the performance level. This is what The Kashmir Files did. Obviously, RRR and The Kashmir Files are minting money. But, it is easy to make The Kashmir Files, but not RRR.” He stated that not every director would be able to make a film with a budget of Rs 5,000 crores. Many, on the other hand, have budgets ranging from Rs 10 to Rs 15 crores.

Vivek Agnihotri, according to Ram Gopal Varma, is a bold filmmaker. He stated that he did not go out to satisfy the crowd and instead delivered what he believed to be correct. The Kashmir Files, he claimed, broke every rule in the book and drew large audiences to the theatres. Trade experts, he claimed, will spend time evaluating its success.
