Helen Skelton, TV presenter, is keen to appear in Series 20 of Strictly Come Dancing
Helen Skelton of Countryfile has emerged as one of Strictly Come Dancing’s main objectives for their upcoming series.
The former Blue Peter presenter, 38, who recently divorced her rugby league star spouse Richie Myler, 31, is being sought after by the show’s producers as they look for the next batch of celebs to appear on the long-running show.
Her performance on the 2012 Strictly Christmas special is still remembered fondly, and they are eager to include her in the lineup this time.
“Helen has been on the Strictly wishlist since she did the Christmas special,” a source told The Sun, “but the timing has never been quite right for her to sign up.”
“She moved to France for three years in 2015 while Richie was playing there, as well as taking time off for her three pregnancies.”
“It was also implied that Richie was unsure about her participation.” This year, though, the bosses believe things will be different.”
Given that she and Richie have been apart since their wedding in 2013, the scenario may be extremely different. Richie left the family home, Helen declared on her Instagram page in late April that they were no longer a couple.
She said at the time: “Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple. We will be doing our best to co-parent our small children.”
The Leeds Rhinos scrum-half has even unfollowed his wife on Instagram, with whom he has two sons and a four-month-old daughter. To add insult to injury, he has been photographed with new girlfriend Stephanie Thirkill, the daughter of his club’s multi-millionaire president Andrew Thirkill.
