Melody, the forthcoming animated musical film, has added Katy Perry to its cast. The 37-year-old actress was just announced as one of the project’s producers, according to Deadline.
Melody is based on a kind-hearted singer with the same name who lives in New York City and possesses seven magical musical notes that also serve as her moral compass. The singer then has to battle the evil powers of pop superstar Rose Stellar, who is attempting to destroy her in any way she can. The Firework singer is now working on the project’s original soundtrack, creating and performing songs.
Katy was a good choice to play the main heroine in the film, according to director Jeremy Zag in an interview. He said as per Daily Mail, “Big pop stars live in golden castles, they’re famous with paparazzi all around, but for a little girl there is passion and fear. And I’ve never seen anyone as creative as Katy, who so personifies this character.”
Perry issued a statement to the press in which she commented on one of the film’s main themes. As she stated, “What resonated for me with Melody and her character is the overall storyline that has to do with self-confidence.”
“Storytelling is a good way to help young people find their bravery and self-confidence.” Perry said. Perry also indicated interest in working on a film with a positive message. The artist said i want to set a positive example for Daisy Dove, my one-year-old daughter.
