Pete Davidson made a joke about calling a doctor after ‘genius’ Kanye circulated an AIDS hoax
Pete Davidson’s latest comedic show makes light of Kanye West’s antics.
In the Netflix Is a Joke Fest, the Saturday Night Live actor discussed his connection with Kim Kardashian and the frequent backlash from her ex-husband, Ye.
“How is your year treating you? Good? “I’ve had a very strange year,” Davidson, 28, said.
“This year, I had an AIDS scare. “I did,” he continued. “And you’re like, ‘Wow, Pete. What’s going on in your life right now? Are you passing needles around? Do you use heroin? ‘Do you have a lot of unprotected sex?’ No. Kanye informed me that I had AIDS. He’s also a genius. So I thought, ‘Oh, f—-.’
‘I should contact my doctor,’ I thought. The creator of College Dropout believes I have AIDS.”
Davidson went on to say that he phoned the doctor simply to make sure Kanye was ‘okay.’
“A doctor informed me I didn’t have AIDS. I just appear to have it. So it’s absolutely different,” he explained.
In response, he quipped that John Mulaney instructed him to manufacture a rumour about Kanye.
“I was contacted by John Mulaney. ‘AIDS?’ he asks. You should propagate the notion that he has polio,'” he joked before admitting he had a “very strange experience.”
Davidson continued of how others around him reacted to Kanye: “But even my older pals are like, ‘I don’t know.’ ‘He seems really upset buddy,’ he says “Davidson went on.
“‘Best wishes. Sorry. ‘I’m here if you need me.’ However, no guidance. Nobody said, ‘This is what you do.’ ‘I don’t know,’ everyone said. Yeah. Are you still living with your mother? Are you in a secure place?”
