Prince Charles will not be asked about cash bag from Arab billionaire, officials
The Charity Commission says it won't need to talk to the Prince...
He resigned in 2003 after being accused and later cleared of selling royal gifts, but he continued to work as a freelance fixer and events manager for the prince.
Michael Fawcett, Prince Charles’ longtime valet and personal adviser, was forced to retire in November.
The judgement followed speculation that the aide assisted wealthy Saudi contributor Mahfouz Marei Mubarak bin Mahfouz in obtaining British citizenship in 2016.
The Prince’s Foundation, Charles’ charitable organization, was audited by EY as a result of the dangerous controversy.
Speaking about the valet earlier, the future King confessed: “I can manage without just about anyone except for Michael.”
It was concluded “there is evidence that communication and co-ordination took place between the CEO at the time and so-called ‘fixers’ regarding honorary nominations for a donor between 2014 to 2018”.
The findings of the investigation will be released to the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator for its examination of dealings at the foundation, which is partly based at Dumfries House in East Ayrshire.
