Punjabi singer Gippy Grewal, has issued a statement to music producers not to release any of late singer-rapper Sidhu Moose Wala’s unfinished or unreleased songs.

On Thursday, Gippy warned legal action against anyone who released or leaked any of Sidhu’s work on Twitter.

His statement read, “We request all the music producers Sidhu has worked with in the past, to refrain from releasing or sharing his finished/unfinished tracks. If his work gets leaked, we will take legal action against the individuals involved. Please hand over all the content to his father after Sidhu’s Bhog on June 8th.”

Sidhu was a 28 years old Punjabi musician and rapper who shot dead in Punjab’s Mansa and died on May 29 after unknown assailants opened fire at his car.

According to police sources, Goldy Brar, a Canadian, has claimed responsibility for Moosewala’s murder.

Congress and other political leaders voiced shock and outrage at the killing, blaming the tragedy on the AAP government. According to the DGP, a three-person Special Investigation Team has been formed to investigate the murder.

The state police chief stated in a statement that the singer’s security cover had been reduced to free up officers for deployment for the Operation Bluestar anniversary next month. Two of the four Punjab police commandos who had been assigned to him had been removed, he added.

After joining the Punjab Congress, the singer was hailed as a “young idol” and a “international figure.” His father is an ex-serviceman, while his mother is the Sarpanch of Moosa village in Mansa district. With hits like Jatt Da Muqabla, Dollar, So High, and Bambiha Bole, he made a reputation for himself as a Punjabi singer.
