As of Tuesday morning, the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star had nearly 4 million followers on his verified account. In his bio, he characterises himself as a “Occasional Thespian.”
Depp, 58, praised his “treasured, loyal, and unwavering” fans for their support in his first post.
“We’ve been everywhere together, we have seen everything together. We have walked the same road together. We did the right thing together, all because you cared,” he wrote.
“And now, we will all move forward together. You are, as always, my employers and once again I am whittled down to no way to say thank you, other than just by saying thank you. So, thank you. My love & respect, JD.”
Depp joined the famous video-sharing network less than a week after a Virginia jury convicted Heard responsible for all three counts and awarded him $15 million in damages.
After a three-day deliberation, the jury unanimously decided that the “Aquaman” actress, 36, had defamed Depp in a 2018 op-ed for the Washington Post, in which she referred to herself as a public figure representing domestic abuse but did not name her ex-husband.
@johnnydeppTo all of my most treasured, loyal and unwavering supporters. We’ve been everywhere together, we have seen everything together. We have walked the same road together. We did the right thing together, all because you cared. And now, we will all move forward together. Depp was granted compensatory damages of $10 million and punitive damages of $5 million. In her countersuit against Depp, Heard won a tiny success, with the jury giving her $2 million in compensatory damages but no punitive damages.
The “Edward Scissorhands” star said he was “at peace” and “overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and colossal support and kindness from around the world” after winning.
“Six years ago, my life, the life of my children, the lives of those closest to me, and also, the lives of the people who for many, many years have supported and believed in me were forever changed. All in the blink of an eye,” he said.
He added, “From the very beginning, the goal of bringing this case was to reveal the truth, regardless of the outcome. Speaking the truth was something that I owed to my children and to all those who have remained steadfast in their support of me.”
The actress released her own statement, voicing how she was saddened by the verdict.

“The disappointment I feel today is beyond words. I’m heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence, and sway of my ex-husband,” she said.
Depp sued Heard for $50 million in 2019, saying that her op-ed in the New York Times had harmed his reputation and career by mentioning the time she filed for divorce and a restraining order in 2016.
Depp has returned to the public eye since his victory in court. Just two days after his lawyers delivered final arguments, he performed on stage with Jeff Beck. While celebrating his victory with pals in England, he also spent $62,000 on an Indian feast.
And it appears that he is now ready to enter the TikTok realm.
